Big ideas at The Spin Bar
See event details 8£

A event on Monday 12th August. The event starts at 20:00.

The event is called ‘Big Ideas’ and will feature two trailblazing innovators as inspirational speakers.

The first, Sacha Dench, is the brains behind Flight of the Swans, a ground breaking expedition which involved her flying 7,000km by paramotor from Arctic Russia to the UK, in efforts to save the migratory Bewick's swan (see here for further details https://www.flightoftheswans.org/). The journey was marred by numerous challenges including technical failures, adverse weather and injury. Against all these adversities, Sacha and the team demonstrated incredible problem solving skills, determination, resilience and confidence to complete the expedition.

The second speaker is Clayton Planter, founder of Street2Boardroom, a social enterprise designed for young people and adults who find themselves caught in a range of illegal activities, from selling drugs to theft and robbery, giving them the skills, knowledge and confidence to apply what they have learned from the street – to learn the legal hustle! They offer a 4-week course to teach them the basic skills needed to set up their own business and personal mentoring to support them and help them achieve their goals (see here for further details https://www.street2boardroom.com/).

Both speakers have demonstrated creativity, resilience and inspiring determination to put into practice bold, transformative ideas that make a positive societal and environmental impact.

The event will be held on the evening of Monday 12 August at the Spin Bar in Bristol, BS1 5AT
