The Brackish + Shoun Shoun + Grandchild at The Thunderbolt
Headfirst Editor's Pick

"Delirious instrumental post-punk-post-jazz-post-prog to melt genre and send it gushing from your enraptured ears! The Brackish tie together idiosyncratic artistry and psychedelic experimentalism with a tightness of timing that borders on comic genius. Essential FFO: Frank Zappa, Gentle Giant, John Zorn, Elephant9, The Jelas."

THE BRACKISH
Celebrating the vinyl release of their fifth album 'Donor Zone' on Stolen Body records. Sister album to 'Atlas Day', recorded at the same sessions in a barn in Wiltshire capturing the essence of their live sound.
The Brackish are an audacious assembly of guitarists Luke Cawthra (Phantom Limb) and Neil Smith (This Is The Kit), drummer Matt Jones (Zun Zun Egui) and Port Erin bassist, Jacob Myles Tyghe. With five albums under their belts, the band has gained a reputation for awe-inspiring live shows across the European and UK.

'A Musical Hall Of Mirrors built with warped genius' 9/10 Guitarist Magazine

'Breathtaking verve, guts and temerity.... going from deep harmonic abstraction, to driving, algebraic, Beefheartian romps to joyous, triumphant crescendos. If you EVER have the chance to see them play…make sure you do.

SHOUN SHOUN
From Berlin / Bristol based unflinching, atmospheric noise pop and art psych rock with the urban ennui of Nico and the noise of Sonic Youth.

Shoun Shoun's sound is hard to categorise, moving between abrasive garage rock and soporific dream pop, playful psychedelia and carnal post punk, embracing the duality of darkness and bliss, melody and noise.

"unpredictably surreal and profound with a garage and post-punk feel ..."

Their music got aired on Radio 6 and by 20+ radio stations across the globe – from Canada to Belgium.
