Cece's Bristol Speakeasy at The Trinity Centre
Pay What You Decide from £5

A event held at The Trinity Centre on Saturday 13th November. The event starts at 19:00.

July 2031, an underground event took place in a secret location in South East London. It was an act of creative resistance against climate and environmental injustice using Live Music, Spoken Word, Storytelling and cutting-edge visuals.

Now with some of Bristol’s finest poetry filmmaking talent and poetry performers, Trinity hosts an underground Cece’s Satellite Speakeasy as part of the growing dissent around climate inequality and the hoarding of chocolate and coffee beans.

This is a Premiere screening of original artist activist poetry films by Ella Wallsworth-Bell, Aisha Sanyang-Meek, Kofi Gyamfi and Hannah Temme and Steve Lawton with a discussion with the Artists about the making of their hard hitting and hopeful films.

Also, dynamic call-to action live performance poetry by Shagufta Iqbal and Solomon O.B will remind us that we have a choice in how we respond to the climate crisis. We can celebrate each other at Cece’s.

As global temperatures rise, the quality and quantity of our crops decreases. In the not-so-distant future, coffee bean production will halt – caffeine will become extinct. By 2050 there will be no more chocolate.

Step forward into 2031…

We invite truth-seekers, chocolate lovers and coffee drinkers and adventurers to come and be inspired to talk about issues around climate change through the stories of Coffee and Chocolate.
