The End at The Trinity Centre
Pay what you can

A event held at The Trinity Centre on Saturday 25th May. The event starts at 16:00.

The End by Bertrand Lesca and Nasi Voutsas in collaboration with Laura Dannequin

In this new piece, Bert and Nasi dance the end of their relationship, imagining what a future without each other might look like. Above the stage and projected onto a screen, two parallel narratives run alongside each other: the end of the Earth and the end of their collaboration.

In the vein of their previous work, it is a poignant, sad and funny account of the ongoing ecological crisis. Their dance is a reminder and a celebration of our own mortality, and that of everything around us.

“Both insistently silly and unreservedly heart-rending” Guardian ★★★★

“playful and poignant” The Stage ★★★★

This performance is part of Mayfest: Bristol's international festival of contemporary theatre and live performance, curated and produced by MAYK. Check out the full programme at https://www.mayk.org.uk/mayfest, @mayfestbristol

"It feels special to be able to finally share this work with you in Bristol which feels like one of Bert and Nasi’s creative homes. Their unique creative spark creates heartfelt worlds which are at once light and dark - funny and sad. And The End is no exception. A sort of movement poem that holds you expertly in the palm of their hands." Kate & Matthew, co-directors, MAYK

About Bert and Nasi
Bertrand and Nasi are two performance makers who met in 2015.
Devising projects in an age of austerity, their work is stripped right back and sits somewhere between live art and dance, but if you held them against a wall they would probably say it's theatre.
They received the Forced Entertainment Award in 2020.
They have created seven shows that have toured the world in prestigious festivals such as the Adelaide Festival, MiTsp, PuSh and Avignon Festival.
"Even when it is operating as a metaphor, Lesca and Voutsas always appear so clearly visible in their work.“ Lyn Gardner, Guardian
