A gig held at To The Moon on Thursday 7th April. The event starts at 19:00.

After an amazing March event, Pear O'Legs Records are thrilled to be hosting three fantastic acts at To The Moon on 7th April.

We've really outdone ourselves this month, with a couple of sensational contemporary acoustic acts from around the UK, hosted by our very own Fritillaries.

David Grubb Quartet

Eclectic folk with a dark identity. David Grubb brings together an array of seemingly disparate musical elements to create a uniquely diverse sound, challenging the audience’s perception of genre. David has been described as "A musician who doesn´t play by anybody else´s rules" (RnR Mag), and his melodies “highly melodious, appealingly catchy, even hypnotic at times” (The Living Tradition).

"Nothing really prepares you for David Grubb's new album, Nano, either musically or psychologically." Folk Radio UK

Shayler and Brooke

Combining heartfelt and intelligent storytelling with close harmonies, finger-picked guitar and clawhammer banjo, Shayler & Brooke make contemporary folk music that draws on traditions from both sides of the Atlantic.

“Lovely music … properly steeped in those good folk traditions” – BBC Radio Solent

Fritillaries

Americana instrumentation, folksy rootedness and a pop song sensibility; Fritillaries’ music is sometimes upbeat and gnarly, sometimes slow and contemplative, and always original and engaging. Playing together since childhood, they share a unique intimacy and ability to draw audiences into their world. Their debut album - about places and people missed and found in isolation, and things found growing when we dig down into spaces the light doesn’t reach - will be released on 15th July 2022 on Pear O’ Legs Records.

“A delight ... theirs is an emotional and intense music that needs concentration and the audience obliges, hanging onto and appreciating every word, as shown by the prolonged applause between songs." RnR Magazine
