A gig held at To The Moon on Wednesday 13th May. The event starts at 19:15.
Anna Ling makes music that “marries the mundane with the mythic”(Night Tracks BBC Radio 3), and her story-rich performances are gaining a reputation for being unapologetically authentic; luminous and ludicrous in equal measure. Songlines celebrates her “warm-hearted set, oozing musical and lyrical delicacy”, and BBC Introducinghas named her as "mesmerizing".
After the success of her debut album and tour in 2025, she returns to the road, this time joined by multi instrumentalist folk musician Stephen Cumberland. Moving playfully between double bass, fiddle, analogue synth, and honeyed vocal textures, Stephen brings a deep sensitivity to the arrangements, opening up new landscapes within the songs, as well as offering his own material woven into the set.
Together, they will perform in selected living rooms and intimate venues, with an intention of creating warm spaces of connection and community.
“Anna Ling pushes the edges of contemporary folk” — Fatea
“Captivatingly visceral and descriptive.” — York Calling
“The most original and unique collection of songs I have heard for a long long time.” — Get Ready To Rock
Opening the night with a short set will be Anna Anise, a radiant new voice in modern folk, blending melodic hooks, rich vocals, and full-bodied guitar tunings with the heritage of the Cornish language to create something truly captivating.
