Gallivant + Q&A at Watershed
£6.00 - £11.50

A event held at Watershed on Sunday 22nd June. The event starts at 14:00.

In the newly-restored alternative British road movie Gallivant, the director Andrew Kötting sets off on a wandering, eventful journey around the British coastline accompanied by his granny and young daughter Eden.

Finding an itinerant sense of home in their camper van, the trio stumble across residual pagan traditions and conduct quirky interviews with local folk. Through their travels, they find common ground with rural traditionalists and those they find clinging to the dying ports and seaside towns – their homes and lifestyles at risk of erosion.

Despite these weighty undercurrents, it’s a hugely joyous voyage, an irreverent jaunt described by writer Iain Sinclair as “a glorious apotheosis for the home movie”.

Follwed by a Q&A with director Andrew Kötting.
