Continuing the legacy of Sun Ra one for the most forward thinking and iconic jazz musicians, The Sun Ra Arkestra invite you for a night of interplanetary jazz exploration. In a celebration of band leader and alto saxophonist Marshall Allen's 95th birthday the Arkestra come to Bristol with their “unique, brilliant and legendary” sound (Guardian). Decked out in cosmic costumes the Arkestra play through genres covering not only jazz but blues, honky tonk and sci-fi soundscapes. “There’s something distinctive and moving about the Arkestra’s sound” (The Telegraph) and it will take you from Bristol into the great beyond.
