Daniel Newberry brings his quartet to Fringe Jazz for the first time featuring the brilliant young tenor saxophonist with two fellow rising stars of the Cardiff Jazz Scene, pianist Guy Shotton and ace drummer Alex Goodyear along with the renowned bassist Ashley John Long.

If you were at last year's Art Themen gig you will have seen Daniel play when Art invited the young sax player and Iain Ballamy to join him on the stage. We were so impressed with his playing that we invited him and his own quartet to come and play at the club.

Dan is currently studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff. Under the tuition of jazz greats such as Iain Ballamy and Rich Perry, Daniel has had the opportunity to perform at venues all over the UK, Europe and the US. Some highlights include St David's Hall with Nikki Iles, The Rainbow Room in New York and a run of shows in Prague with Czech guitarist Libor Šmoldas.
