Deems Experiment
Drawing from a wide variety of sonic sources including jazz, art rock, classical and electronic music, Deems Experiment is a collaborative, improvised project with rotating musicians, selected for their commitment to free improvisation and communication through music.
Their audiences are treated to rich rhythmic interplay that flirts with odd time signatures, and deeply evocative progressions.
Their performances are conversations where the individual voices of the collective coalesce to create a sonic landscape that pushes boundaries.

The band tap into a universal language that transcends the verbal and translates into an inimitable yet inclusive rhythmic and sonic experience.
Moving fluidly and easily from afrobeat to latin, dub to dance and then further into unbridled jazz improv, they masterfully combine all the ingredients necessary to get any room dancing. Inspired by and referencing the wider UK modern Jazz powerhouses of KOKOROKO, Ezra Collective and Sons of Kemet.
