Halo Mino at The Bristol Fringe

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Sunday 2nd August. The event starts at 17:30.

Halo Mino (Oliver Halo Woodrow Jones and Benjamino Cipolla) are a musical duo who write songs together. Their music comes out of conversations around a table, long-running friendship, and the joy of making music in the moment.

The duo draw on a range of influences, from the communal Brazilian groove of Ivan Lins, to the storytelling of Egyptian-Greek Georges Moustaki, to the melodic rhythmic fusion of Keith Jarret or the ethereal folk influence of Nick Drake and John Martyn.

Their latest EP was written and recorded over six days in Oli’s home studio in Cairo, where the sounds of the city, family life, sunsets, and the vibrancy of daily life found its way into the music.

Between the UK and Cairo, the duo have built a musical language shaped by place, memory and friendship. Their songs move between intimate storytelling and communal, anthem-like energy: warm, soulful, grooving and cinematic.

At the heart of Halo Mino is a connection between people, places, memories, and the small moments that suddenly become songs.
