The Other Way launch gig, plus Al Swainger at The Bristol Fringe
£10. Please email [email protected]

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Tuesday 19th October. The event starts at 20:00.

The Other Way play Dystopian Soul music, with soulful vocals and lyrics about ecology and the future of humanity, plus a healthy slice of jazz, deep grooves, improvisation, and birdsong. Mike Flynn from Jazzwise called it “off-kilter jazz-punk with a funky edge”. Their influences include Robert Glasper, Wayne Shorter and Robert Wyatt.

The Other Way received an Arts Council grant to work on their music through the lockdown times, and are now emerging, with a great lineup...

Rowan Porteous - trumpet and electronics
Elly Hopkins - voice and guitar
Billie Bottle - keyboards and voice
Guillaume Ottaviani - bass
Emma Holbrook - drums
