Improv’s Greatest Hits is a new label and fluid collective of
musicians aiming to use improvised music as a vehicle to mix
musical and social scenes. We’re excited to transfer the ethos
of eclectic lineups and introducing new acts to an all dayer !⃠
Whether it’s freedom, confusion, joy or meh that
comes to mind when thinking of musical improv,
the following projects will give a taster of how
flexible the medium can be .. from diy basement
to concert hall, structured to complete freeform,
self taught musician to trained ….. punk to jazz
to noise to classical to pop and all in between
The day starts at 11am with an improv workshop exploring different ways to interact and connect musically. Open to absolutely anyone

t l k is a Bristol-based producer, vocalist and collaborator. Their sound nests in the ‘melantronic’ subgenre, shaped by Bristol’s improvisation scene and manifested in her introverted moments.
Laura Phillips is a Sagittarius, non-smoking artist who lives and
works between Bedminster, Southmead, and Aberystwyth. She
is a Bristolian artist working primarily in 16mm film. Phillips uses a mixture of photochemical processes, sounds and digital imagery and often makes work through conversation and collaboration. She makes films and plays waterphone in the audio-visual project Viridian Ensemble. She is best known for her time moping about the avant-garde artist space Brunswick Club and making Tik-Tok videos about kitchen utensils & alien abduction.
Multi instrumentalist but with a big passion
for drums; Harry Irvine (Iceman Furniss Qrt,
Giantess, one half of IGH) aka Big Fuss puts
together an all star cast of Bristolian musicians
to realise structures and tunes live, previously
mostly heard in his relentless plus relentlessly
imaginative bandcamp output
Residents from new label / collective / radio
show and event series Bliss Archive play a
special one off set - ‘The Bag’ (live) Since
conception they have bought out first releases
from Bivouac, a collaborative project & constantly
revolving cast including Robin Stewart & Harry
Wright (Giant Swan) Tara Clerkin, Dali De Saint Paul
amongst others plus hold events at Strange Brew and
broadcast a regular show on Noods Radio
A don of the local improv and DIY scene, Dan Johnson’s drums can be heard in EP/64 amongst many other projects and experienced in self organised ‘rebel’ out of the box gigs taking place in spots around Bristol or in his own living room. Pushing himself to
high performance levels, he is also co author of the ‘Musical Responses & Collaborative Experiments’ module at Bimm Bristol
New duo from sculptor and esoteric sonic ritual noise maker — Ekstatis, beside Cajm, intense soundscaper plus member of synth punk operation band Powerplant
Otto Wild (they/he) is an artist focused on bluring
the line that sits between the realms of breakbeat
techno rave and the experimental sensibilities of
noise, industrial, punk and jazz. Working on a solo
project that sits in this limbo of genres, they also
feature in other projects such as jazz noir band Ex
Agent and have recently taken to bringing this same
intensity to the dancefloor with DJ sets
