Stitching Resilience - Heart ornaments workshop - at Bristol Folk House
£33 standard / £28 concession

A event held at Bristol Folk House on Friday 12th December. The event starts at 13:30.

Craft & Connection!

I invite you to take a break and create something unique that you could keep for yourself or give as a gift to a loved one. We will be making heart-shaped ornaments, with stitched details, ribbons and tassels.

We are gathering not only to stitch, but to co-create a safe space for expression, for sharing our presence and thoughts. Maybe the latest news got you overwhelmed, maybe you just wish to do something fun or just meet other creative people. The community needs to come together, stronger than ever. In this process of unity, art comes to open a path.

This session is addressed to those who like to get creative or are maybe a little curious about stitching. It would be great if you have a minimum of experience with needles or at least general crafts.

As part of this journey, honouring the community we are part of and the sacredness of co-creation, you are invited to bring an item you wish to offer as a gift or to exchange with another participant. Please try to bring something practical and in good condition, pre-loved items are encouraged.

The workshop includes a short meditation, the craft session of 2 hours, and a gentle networking circle. Everyone is welcome, especially the diaspora community.

Proposed timetable:
1:15- 1:30 pm- Arrival
1:30- 1:35 pm- Short meditation and grounding
1:35- 3:35- Craft session with breaks as needed
3:35- 3:50- Exchanging gifts and contacts (only if you wish)

Please do your best to arrive on time.
Tickets are non-refundable, only transferable to a friend. If you are experiencing financial struggles, contact me at [email protected] . Includes all materials, tea & creative guidance. 10% of profit is donated to I HEART AFRICA charity supporting children in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Peace and love,
Shika
