Stitching Resilience - visible mending and upcycling - at Bristol Folk House
£26 standard / £20 concession

A event held at Bristol Folk House on Friday 21st November. The event starts at 13:30.

Craft & Connection on a Friday afternoon!

Do you have clothes that could use a little love?
Curious about upcycling, or just want to explore fabric and thread in a mindful space?
Would you like to meet other people with similar interests?

We are gathering and bringing our beloved clothing items that need a bit of care in a guided session, where your ideas can come to life! Bring those jeans, let's mend that shirt, visible, with colours, with full love!

We are co-creating a safe space for expression, for sharing our presence and thoughts. Expect open conversations about honouring Mother Earth, sustainability, and slow fashion. 10% of profit is donated to World Animal Protection (UK) which tackles factory farming, wildlife trade, cruelty to wild animals & farmed animals globally.

This session is addressed to those who like to get creative or are maybe a little curious about stitching. It would be great if you have a minimum of experience with needles or at least general crafts. Everyone is welcome, especially inviting the diaspora community.

As part of this journey, honouring the community we are part of and the sacredness of co-creation, you are invited to bring an item you wish to offer as a gift or to exchange with another participant. Please try to bring something practical and in good condition, pre-loved items are encouraged.

The workshop includes a short meditation, the craft session of 2 hours, and a gentle networking circle.

Proposed timetable:
1:15- 1:30 pm- Arrival
1:30- 1:35 pm- Short meditation and grounding
1:35- 3:35- Craft session with breaks as needed
3:35- 3:50- Exchanging gifts and contacts (only if you wish)

Please do your best to arrive on time.
Tickets are non-refundable, only transferable to a friend. If you are experiencing financial struggles, contact me at [email protected] . Includes all materials.

Peace and love,
Shika
