Hana Stretton + WOOM at Bristol Folk House

A gig held at Bristol Folk House on Sunday 13th September. The event starts at 20:00.

Ear Trumpet Music Presents: Hana Stretton + WOOM

Hana Stretton is a British-Australian music producer and composer, recognised for her singular, deeply distinctive sound. Her stunning debut, Soon, quickly became a beloved work within the experimental lo-fi community. Phil Elverum described her music as “mysterious, deep, resonant, inhabitable,” and his label PW Elverum & Sun went on to release the album in 2024.

Deeply connected to the natural world, Stretton’s work traces a vivid journey—from the dusty Australian bushland of Soon to the Pacific Ocean on her forthcoming LP, tiarn. Set for release this year, the new record takes an unexpected cinematic turn, weaving together classical and electronic influences.

In 2023-2024, Hana toured with Jessica Pratt, Mount Eerie and Julie Byrne as well as selling out London’s RAH Elgar Room, and appearing at festivals such as Haldern Pop and Sound Of Bronkow Festivals.

WOOM is a three-piece vocal led band consisting of Alice Barlow, Lara Laeverenz and Isobel Risk. Celebrated for their non-hierarchical collaborative structure, the group creates harmony-led vocal music that blends experimental songwriting with exploratory production and immersive performance.

Their latest EP, To Slow You (2025), received critical acclaim from The Guardian, Crack Magazine, Rolling Stone, BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 3, amongst others. The release marks a deepening of the group’s creative process, with WOOM writing, producing and shaping the project entirely in-house, from songwriting, production, visual artwork and music video direction.

WOOM have performed at venues and festivals including Glastonbury, The Great Escape, Mirrors and Boiler Room Festival. They launched ‘To Slow You’ with a sold-out headline show at the ICA, following two consecutive sold-out headline performances at London’s Southbank Centre. In 2025, they also joined Clarissa Connelly on stage for performances at the Barbican, ICA and Kings Place, alongside Caroline Polachek.

Drawing from a wide range of genres and influences, WOOM’s live performances are immersive and spellbinding, offering audiences a sense of care, solidarity and the power of collective harmony and storytelling.
