BalFolk Bristol presents Emily & the Simons at Bristol Folk House
See event details

A gig held at Bristol Folk House on Sunday 26th November. The event starts at 19:00.

Emily & the Simons are an Anglo-Belgian Balfolk trio. Their music is centred around Emily’s compositions, drawing inspiration from life's encounters and the energy of the dance-floor. Their style is highly expressive and improvisatory, full of passion, tenderness and playfulness. With a wide repertoire ranging from exquisite, sensual mazurkas to joyful, driving bourrées, their music transports the imagination, stirs the feet and uplifts the spirit.

A bal is the European version of a ceilidh. You're welcome to listen and enjoy the music, or join in and dance. Most of the dances are in couples rather than sets and are easy to pick up as you go. We will be running a beginners dance workshop at the start of the evening to show you everything you need to get out on the dance floor.
