As we enter a new phase of our own, we are very happy to bring you one of our favourite new bands of last year as they head back to the UK. Mildlife are a four piece from Melbourne that play music that gives the head room to breath. Cosmic jams, slow grooves, fluttering synths, hiphop drums, slick vocals, psychedelic effects, tape echo - the influences - Jan Hammer, early Stevie Wonder, Can, Herbie Hancock, Tangerine Dream are all there but they sound just like themselves. We heard them first of all via Tom Ravenscroft Recommends with plenty of plays on 6 Music and support from the likes of Nic Luscombe (Late Junction), Gilles Peterson, Mount Kimbie and positive reviews from The Fader and The Guardian. The single "The Magnificant Moon" is a great introduction to this band if you're already not familiar. Check the link below; https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=7ke4EYM0zPM
