"An absolute paragon of delicate euphoria and emo-tenderness via lo-fi electronica, ambient-folk and hazy pop. No one is doing it quite like autotune crooner Organ Tapes, and the distinctly wistful and romantic sonic world he’s been building for the past decade is a divine testament to this. "

A
gig
held at The Louisiana
on Sunday 11th May. The event starts at 19:00.
Migrating from our usual home of The Cube, Enter the Noid invites you to The Louisiana for a three-headed showcase of artists pushing unique songcraft forms and vocal delivery.
ORGAN TAPES (NTS / worldwide unlimited)
For over a decade now, Organ Tapes has been masterminding a unique style, attempting to reconcile not just his interests in pop and experimental modes, but also his identity as a British-Chinese artist who's spent his life between Shanghai and London. Through production work for Triad God and releases for Tobago Tracks, Genome6.66Mbp and Berlin’s much loved Creamcake, he’s developed a sound that’s pretty much inimitable, with autotuned vocals informed by a long-term love of dancehall, afrobeats and Soundcloud rap, and songs that slip into folk and country, with a compositional mindset that’s unmistakably non-Western.
His most recent LP "Chang Zhe Na Wu Ren Wen Jin De Ge Yao" (sing the song that no one cares about), released via DJ Python's 'Worldwide Unlimited' label, is a stunning collection of bedroom pop compositions which drip with familiar-but-alien riffs and hooky choruses rendered personal and heartfelt through low-key, lo-fi production smarts.
Support comes from local legend and Industrial Coast signee MAD GIRL plus artist & counter tenor vocalist Nik Rawlings.
First act will start at 7 and we'll be wrapped up by 10pm at the latest so it shouldn't affect your Sunday bedtime too much!
