Events on Thursday 30th June
“This is a two-hour session - in the first half we'll talk through why we need to have structured and planned conversations with colleagues about taking action. The second half will show you *how* to hold a persuasive conversation with your colleagues to encourage them to step up, and give you chance to get some practice in a friendly environment.”

“The sonnet is one of the most famous and beloved forms of poetry worldwide and continues to find new ways to adapt and respond to modern day themes and issues. This event features readings from three poets: Terrance Hayes (American Sonnets for My Past and Future Assassin), Luke Kennard (Notes on the Sonnets) and Jacqueline Saphra (One Hundred Lockdown Sonnets). Each poet reads from their work, followed by a discussion and Q&A exploring their relationship to the sonnet form as a tool for 21st century poetic expression.”

“On the 100th anniversary of T. S. Eliot’s The Waste Land, join the recent T. S. Eliot Prize winner Joelle Taylor for an exclusive workshop responding to the themes of this classic poem, including textual analysis and writing exercises. Participants can consider the relevance of the poem in today’s world and how we, too, can find ways to write about chaos, desolation and apocalyptic themes whilst still retaining a sense of hope and wonder.”
