Thu 5 - Sun 8 May The fourth edition of Bristol New Music (BNM) promises four days of commissioned works, sonic responses to rarely used spaces, landmark concert hall performances, workshops, film and club nights. ***FULL PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED*** ***FINAL TIER OF FESTIVAL PASSES NOW ON SALE*** ***FRI / SAT DAY PASSES + INDIVIDUAL EVENT TICKETS NOW ON SALE*** For the opening concert, on Thursday 5 May at St George’s Bristol, BNM has co-commissioned an ensemble performance of new group compositions by Mica Levi, with support from Still House Plants. Among site-specific works which draw inspiration from Bristol locations are artist Kelly Jayne Jones’ intimate multimedia performance deep inside the hidden vaults of Clifton Suspension Bridge, Áine O'Dwyer capturing the song and instrumentation of time, place and people in the Bristol neighbourhood of Easton, and Ellen Arkbro performing a new organ piece on the renowned Harrison & Harrison organ at St Mary Redcliffe. Second wave of artists announced for Bristol New Music’s 2022 programme include Sarah Davachi, Coby Sey with London Contemporary Orchestra, Ligeti Quartet, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group,Shirley Pegna, Jabu, Helena Celle, Joanne Robertson, Wojciech Rusin and No Home. Bristol New Music takes place biennially across Bristol. It is a collaboration between five key organisations in the city: Bristol Beacon, Arnolfini, Spike Island, St George’s Bristol and the University of Bristol. NOTES: The festival pass allows access to events across all 4 days of Bristol New Music. Some venues have limited capacity and entry will be on a first come first served basis. Please note that Kelly Jayne Jones' performance in Clifton Suspension Bridge Vaults is a limited capacity event which is not included in the Festival Pass and will require separate booking. The concession price Festival Pass is available to NHS employees, students, under-25s and those in receipt of Universal Credit.
