Messenger Album Launch at The Bristol Fringe

A gig held at The Bristol Fringe on Wednesday 16th September. The event starts at 20:00.

Marcus James is an alternative electronic artist blending atmospheric production with emotionally direct songwriting. With a background in jazz piano, his music sits somewhere between the introspective electronics of James Blake and harmonic sophistication of Thom Yorke, with The Cinematic Orchestra and Jordan Rakei providing additional influences.

Growing up in Bristol, Marcus learned to write music instinctively and with no formal training. To this day, he composes primarily by ear, often starting with vocal melodies before building the surrounding production. He became involved in the city’s music scene through performing at venues across Bristol and collaborating with a wide range of local musicians. The city’s rich musical landscape - spanning electronic, jazz, indie and drum & bass - helped shape his uniquely textural and emotionally driven sound.

Following the release of his Debut album Messenger, Marcus will be performing the album live, along with some exclusive, unreleased tracks. This won’t be one to miss!
