Everyone knows that it took more than a couple of Bashmore’s finest to propel house music into Bristol’s spotlight - this has been bubbling away for years. Part of the secret to house music’s swift ascent has been a shoulder-to-shoulder relationship with disco. With house djs for Idle Hands, Futureboogie and Brstl all peppering their sets with unheard disco material, a catalyst was in place to add the euphoria and sunshine that turns club nights into parties. Epitomised by Alfresco Disco and Dirty Talk, the bond between house music and disco is now stronger than ever.

“Rooted in the sun-kissed lands of Andalusia, southern Spain, and now based in Newcastle (UK), she pieces together soulful, percussive journeys across Latin America, the Caribbean, Brazil, and Africa. Her mixes are a celebration of vibrant sounds from these regions, with a rich backbone of jazz, rare groove, funk and disco, tunes that move your feet and your soul.”

“Electro royalty. King of the 808. Mr Smooth. The Vocoder Prince. Often imitated, never surpassed. Since the 1980’s the Egyptian Lover has been teasing out a saccharine blend of funk-soaked electro and drum machine sleaze, loaded with groove and melody and that classic Egypt vocal. His debut ‘On The Nile’ set the blueprint for decades of synthetic boogie, electro-funk and left field disco across the globe, fusing drifting North African melodies with the unmistakable low end boom. Strictly party energy in the house all night long, expect all manner of DJ tricks, plenty of mic action and if we’re lucky.. an Egyptian Lover 808 masterclass..”
