“In this 3 hr workshop I will teach you how to draw out and paint a detailed eye using water mixable oil paints. Under my guidance, you will receive step-by-step instruction where I will introduce how I approach working with the grid method and water-mixable oils. We will begin by drawing out the eye in pencil first, followed by a demonstration of how to mix colours and apply them to your drawing. You will work from photographic references, making the workshop suitable for all experience levels. No previous painting experience is necessary, and all materials are included. This workshop takes place during our group exhibition 'LIKE' in the gallery.”

“PHILLIP LAI: 'RAIN / RUIN' Spike Island presents a major solo exhibition of new work by Phillip Lai (b.1969, Kuala Lumpur), bringing together a body of sculptural commissions that continue the artist’s exploration of the material world around us. Lai’s sculptures combine everyday objects with his own intensive re-makings of them to create a parallel imprint of the real world.”

“In A land as big as her skin Lebanese artist Mounira Al Solh invites you into a vivid world where ancient mythology collides with contemporary experience. Born in Beirut, now living and working between the Netherlands and Lebanon, her work poignantly and playfully navigates complex themes including identity, migration, trauma, inequality and gender, through her deep love of craftsmanship and materials. Join us at Arnolfini for this special in-conversation to learn more about Mounira Al Solh’s practice and the works in the exhibition, which continues at Arnolfini until 24 May 2026.”
